    Grand Chocolate Chip Cookie

      Unsalted Butter 1 ½ Sticks
      All-purpose Flour 2 cups
      Baking Soda ½ tsp
      Kosher Salt ½ tsp
      Granulated Sugar 1/3 cup
      Brown Sugar 2/3 cup
      Egg 1
      Egg Yolk 1
      Vanilla Extract 1 ½ tsp
      Ghirardelli Grand Chips 1 bag (11 oz.)


    1. Preheat oven to 375°F. 
    2. In a saucepan melt the butter over low heat. Set aside for 5 minutes to cool slightly. 
    3. In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt until combined. Set Aside.
    4. In a large mixing bowl beat together butter, sugar and brown sugar for 2 minutes on medium speed. Scrape down the bowl as needed. 
    5. Add eggs one at a time until well combined. Add vanilla.
    6. Add dry ingredients in thirds and mix only until just combined. 
    7. Add chocolate chips and stir until just incorporated. 
    8. Cover and chill dough for 1 hour or up to overnight. (optional)
    9. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheets.
    10. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until just starting to brown around the edges.
    11. Remove and let stand on cookie sheets for 2 minutes. Remove and cool on wire racks.
