By submitting any user-generated content, you represent and warrant that you own all rights in and to the user-generated content; that no third-party material is included in the user-generated content; and Sponsor's use of any user-generated content as provided herein will not violate or infringe upon the rights of any third party.

  • Glitter eyelash yarn
  • Tapestry needle or similar needle


Using a screw punch fitted with a 2mm bit, punch a hole in each upper corner of desired number of wrapped SQUARES.

Thread punched SQUARES onto eyelash yarn with a tapestry needle (or similar needle).

Hang garland as desired.

  • Assorted Ghirardelli SQUARES® chocolates, still in wrapper
  • Cardstock in bright holiday colors and patterns
  • Stapler
  • Ribbon
  • Adhesive
  • X-ACTO® knife


Cut a piece of cardstock to 7 1/2" x 2 1/2"

Score the cardstock at 3/4", 4" and 4 1/2"

Fold and crease.

Insert SQUARES chocolate and staple into place.

Add a ribbon. Place a little adhesive in the center, adhere the ribbon to the back, wrap around to the front, and tie a bow over the staple.

Makes 16 cookies

  • 2/3 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 16 Ghirardelli Milk & Caramel SQUARES™ Chocolate
  • 1/4 cup Ghirardelli® 60% Cacao Bittersweet Chocolate Baking Chips
  • 1 teaspoon shortening
  • 1/3 cup Ghirardelli® Unsweetened Cocoa (optional)*


In a large bowl, beat butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add sugar, baking powder and salt. Beat until combined, scraping bowl occasionally. Beat in egg, milk and vanilla until combined. Beat in as much of the flour as you can with the mixer. Stir in any remaining flour with a spatula or wooden spoon. Divide dough in half. Cover and chill for 2 hours or until dough is easy to handle.

Preheat oven to 375°F. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper or foil; set aside. On a lightly floured surface, roll half the dough into a 9x8 inch square. With a pastry wheel or pizza cutter, cut into eight 4½x2 inch rectangles. Place a Ghirardelli Milk & Caramel SQUARES™ Chocolate near one end of each rectangle. Bring the dough strip up and over the chocolate square, pinching dough to enclose the chocolate square. Place on prepared cookie sheets. Repeat with remaining dough and chocolate squares.

Bake for 12 minutes or until edges are firm and very lightly browned. Transfer cookies to a wire rack; cool.

Meanwhile, for the chocolate drizzle, in a small microwave-safe bowl, combine the Ghirardelli® 60% Cacao Bittersweet Chocolate Baking Chips and shortening. Microwave on medium power (50 percent) for 1 minute. Remove and stir. If chocolate is not melted, return to microwave and repeat heating step, stirring every 30 seconds to avoid scorching. Stir until smooth.

Spoon the chocolate drizzle over cookies. Let cookies stand in the freezer or at room temperature until the drizzle is set.

Enjoy immediately, store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.

*Variation: For Chocolate Sugar Cookies, prepare as directed, but substitute 1/3 cup Ghirardelli Unsweetened Cocoa for 1/3 cup of the flour.

  • Thin ribbon or string, or standard ornament hooks
  • Scissors
  • A small, sharp object to pierce the wrapper


Working on a flat surface, pierce a small hole in the outside corner of the chocolate wrapper. Do not pierce through chocolate.

Cut a piece of ribbon 4–5 inches long.

Slide ribbon through the hole. Tie the ends of the ribbon together with a knot or bow, creating a loop to hang the ornament.

If you don’t have ribbon, you can slide a standard ornament hook through the hole.

Hang on tree or wherever you wish to add some festive flair.

These delicious bite-size treats are sure to be a big hit at any holiday gathering.

  • 1 20-ounce box Ghirardelli® Dark Chocolate Brownie Mix
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 1-ounce bottle red food coloring (2 tablespoons)
  • 8 oz cream cheese frosting
  • 16 Ghirardelli SQUARES® Holiday Impressions


Preheat oven to 325°F. Line a 9x9x2-inch baking pan with foil, leaving about 1 inch of the foil extending over the edges of the pan. Spray foil with nonstick cooking spray; set aside. In a large bowl, stir together Ghirardelli® Dark Chocolate Brownie Mix and baking soda. Stir in vegetable oil, eggs, and red food coloring until well blended. Pour into prepared baking pan.

Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan on a wire rack for 1 hour. Use foil to lift uncut brownies out of pan. Cut into 16 squares. Dollop cream cheese frosting over each square. Top each piece with Ghirardelli SQUARES® Holiday Impressions.

Wrapped Ghirardelli SQUARES® chocolates are a tasty adornment for your tabletop tree. Even better, at holiday's end these decorations turn into bite-size treats.


  • Foam cone
  • Tinsel garland (an 18-inch tree uses about 36 feet of garland)
  • Pearl-head pins
  • Chocolate SQUARES of choice, still in wrapper (an 18-inch tree uses about 48 squares or approximately 3 bags)
  • Chocolate SQUARES™ packaging
  • Craft knife
  • Ruler or straightedge
  • Straight pins
  • Scissors
  • Bamboo skewer
  • Tape


Begin by wrapping foam cone with tinsel garland until completely covered. Pin one end of garland to bottom edge and turn cone while wrapping. Secure in place with pins as needed.

Using straight pins, attach chocolate squares to cone, starting at bottom edge and continuing to top in a spiral pattern.

To create spray for top of tree, use a craft knife and ruler or straightedge to cut packaging into 1/4-inch strips.

Use scissors to curl strips and attach to bamboo skewer with tape.

Finish tree by inserting end of skewer into top of foam cone.

Makes 18 squares


  • 1 1/2 cups Ghirardelli® 60% Cacao Bittersweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1 1/2 sticks (12 tablespoons) unsalted butter
  • 3 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 8 Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark SQUARES™ chocolates, chopped into large chunks (for the brownies)
  • 18 Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark SQUARES chocolates, broken into large chunks (about 8 pieces per square; for the finishing)


Preheat oven to 350°. Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with foil and grease with pan spray. In a medium saucepan, bring 2 inches of water to a gentle simmer. Put the 60% cacao chips and butter in a heat-proof bowl, and set it over (but not touching) the simmering water. Stir the mixture with a rubber spatula until the butter is melted and both ingredients are completely combined. Turn off the heat and leave the bowl over the warm water. Sift together the flour and baking powder and set aside. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, salt, sugar and vanilla. Add the egg mixture to the chocolate mixture and whisk together gently. With a spatula, fold in the flour. Immediately pour 1/2 the mixture into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Next, sprinkle the chopped peppermint bark over the batter and then pour the remaining batter on top. Spread evenly.

Bake 15–20 minutes. The center should be fudgy but not dry. Remove from the oven and cool for 10 minutes.

Place Peppermint Bark chunks on top of warm brownies and allow them to soften for 1 minute. Using a spatula, gently swirl the melting Peppermint Bark to create swirls of melted chocolate. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Trim the 4 edges of the brownies by 1/4 inch, then cut into 18 squares.

  • 12 to 15 chocolate graham crackers
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/4 teaspoon coarse salt
  • 30 Ghirardelli® Milk Chocolate Peppermint Bark SQUARES, chopped


Preheat oven to 350°. Line a rimmed baking sheet with a nonstick baking mat or parchment paper. Place graham crackers in a single layer on baking sheet with edges touching; set aside. Place sugar and butter in a small saucepan; bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring to dissolve sugar. Reduce heat and cook at a rapid simmer until mixture reduces and is syrupy, about 2 minutes. Pour over graham crackers, using an offset spatula to spread if necessary.

Transfer to oven and bake until bubbling, about 10 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle with chopped chocolate. Let cool completely; refrigerate if necessary to set chocolate.

Break into pieces and serve. Peppermint crunch may be stored in an airtight container for up to 5 days.

Makes 18 Cookies


  • 12 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup Ghirardelli® 60% Cacao Chocolate Baking Chips, melted and cooled to room temperature
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup Ghirardelli® 60% Cacao Chocolate Baking Chips, melted
  • 18 Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark SQUARES™ chocolates


Preheat the oven to 350°. For the dough: Beat together the butter and sugar until smooth. Stir in the 3/4 cup melted and cooled chocolate chips. Stir in the flour, baking soda and salt.

Option 1 — Cookie cutters: Form the dough into two 5-inch discs. Place a disc on a lightly floured work surface, sprinkle flour on top and use rolling pin to roll dough 1/4-inch thick. Use cookie cutters to cut into 1 1/2-inch circles or star shapes. Repeat with the second disc. After you roll out the second disc, combine scraps from each and reroll.

Option 2 -— Roll and cut dough: Divide the dough in half. Place half on a piece of floured parchment paper. With your hands, gently shape into a 1 1/2-inch wide log. (You can put a little flour on your hands if needed.) Wrap the parchment paper around the log and gently roll the parchment paper and log together to make the log round. Repeat with the other log and a second piece of parchment paper. Refrigerate logs until hard, about 1 hour. (You want it hard enough so when you slice it your cookies stay round and don’t get squished on one side.) Slice the dough 1 1/4-inch thick. Place 2 inches apart on parchment lined baking sheets.

Bake for 15 minutes, switching the trays halfway through if you are baking more than one tray at a time. Cool to room temperature. Once cookies have cooled, brush the underside of each with the remaining melted chocolate. Place a peppermint square on top of half the cookies. Place a second cookie, melted chocolate side down on top, making a sandwich. Let the chocolate harden, about 30 minutes.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature.

Pour ingredients into shaker filled with ice, then pour into chilled martini glass. Garnish with an unwrapped Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark SQUARES. For an added touch, rim the glass in chocolate syrup and chocolate shavings.
