Summary

To maintain the brand image and equity of the business by representing the company image correctly. Performs various tasks associated with being a Chocolateer including Cashiering, Candy Making, Stocking Merchandise, Pre-packing, and Fountain duties.

Scope of Responsibilities

Cashiering

  • Satisfy each Guest using both verbal and non-verbal communication in a positive manner during the entire course of the transaction
  • Process purchases according to Company guidelines and protocols
  • Bag purchases according to Company guidelines and Guest requirements
  • Entice Guests and increase Check Transactions utilizing Up-sell techniques
  • Effective management of all cash handling and credit card processing procedures utilizing Company Procedures and best practices

Stocking and Pre-packing

  • Assemble various proprietary retail items per the Recipe Guidelines
  • Maintain adequate supply of all retail product both on the sales floor and in back stock
  • Ensure all product is appropriately priced and signed per Company Guidelines and State/Local Weights and Measurements requirements
  • Maintain sales floor and products to Company Standards of cleanliness, arrangement, and display

Guest Service

  • Utilize Company Best Practices of Guest Satisfaction by working with Guests on the sales floor and the restaurant area
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of all products, pricing, and Company History
  • Utilize knowledge of products and pricing to satisfy guest inquiries and create up-sell opportunities
  • Maintain professional in all inquiries and encounters with Guests
  • Utilize the approved Company Protocol when answering the shop phone
  • Assist Co-workers, Supervisor, and Management in providing superior Guest Service
  • Gift-wrap as needed items for sale per Company Guidelines and Standards
  • Offer samples of approved product to all Guests

Maintenance and Sanitation

  • Maintain all table tops in a clean and sanitary condition per Company Guidelines
  • Maintain all glassware and serve ware in a clean and sanitary condition per Company Guidelines
  • Maintain levels of sanitation and cleanliness in regards to trash receptacles
  • Maintain levels of sanitation and cleanliness in regards to floors
  • Keep all Fountain and Condiment supplies both on the sales floor and behind the Fountain Area stocked and in good condition     
  • Maintain the stockroom in a clean and orderly fashion per Company Guidelines
  • Follow Food Safety guidelines for the proper storage, care, and usage of food items and utensils
  • Clean windows and mirrors when they appear smudged or soiled or when directed by a Supervisor/Manager
  • Maintain Guest and Employee Washing Facilities in good working order and in a clean, sanitary condition

Fountain/Food Service

  • Properly Set Up, Maintain, and Break Down Fountain Area per Company Guidelines and Standards
  • Utilize good judgment and practice to minimize or eliminate wasted product
  • Replenish toppings and various fountain items throughout the day as needed
  • Maintain the proper level and all required ice cream flavors
  • Maintain Fountain Area and corresponding equipment in a clean and sanitary condition
  • Keep knowledge level current of all fountain products and their required preparation
  • Work as a “Topper" or “Scooper" as needed
  • Perform “Semi-Table Service" function as part of overall Guest Satisfaction
  • Be knowledgeable of product information, prices, and ingredients
  • Maintain the requisite amount of glassware
  • Follow Food Safety guidelines and Best Practices for the proper storage, care, and usage of food items and utensils
  • Maintain all Candy Making equipment and supplies in good working order
  • Keep current of all Candy Making recipes
  • Create all Candy items per Company approved recipes and guidelines

Specific Knowledge & Skills

  • Basic math computation skills relevant to the requirements of the position
  • Strong oral and written communication skills relevant to the requirements of the position
  • Verbal and Written English language skills at a minimum of an 8th grade equivalent
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Ability to work with a diverse work team and meet adversity with professionalism
  • Ability to manage time effectively
  • Computer literacy in register systems
  • Knowledge of POS systems
  • A Propensity to provide Superior Guest Service
  • Maintain smile and pleasant demeanor
  • Ability to operate a dishwashing machine

Education & Work Experience

High School Diploma. A minimum of 2 years experience in retail/restaurant industry preferred.
